Image
(Image is owned by  2021 NBA Draft and Trade Buzz = Hot Stove Is SO HAWT Right Now (i80sportsblog.com) , we do not own the rights) NBA Draft Selections (Top 10) 1. Detroit Pistons- PG Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma St.) 2. Houston Rockets- SG Jalen Green (NBA G League Ignite) 3. Cleveland Cavaliers- C Evan Mobley (USC) 4. Toronto Raptors- SF Scottie Barns (Florida State) 5. Orlando Magic- SG Jalen Suggs (Gonzaga) 6. OKC Thunder- SG Josh Giddey (Austrailia) 7. Golden State Warriors- PF Jonathan Kuminga (Congo) 8. Orlando Magic- SF Franz Wagner (Michigan) 9. Sacramento Kings- PG Davion Mitchell (Baylor) 10. New Orleans Pelicans- SG Zaire Williams (Stanford) Favorite Picks: Cade Cunningham- 6'8 Point Guard was a no brainer to be selected 1st overall. With Detroit basically starting from scratch, this is the type of guy you can build around going forward. He has all the moves that a natural scorer needs to have to be successful in the NBA. He also seems very mature for a...

Ken Rosenthal is Cancelled

Image
(Image is owned by MLB.com, we do not own the rights) Wow. What a roller coaster yesterday was as trade rumors were circulating all day around prized jewel Max Scherzer. What made it especially traumatic as a Padres fan was the fact that a guy by the name of Ken Rosenthal got all of our hopes up. He made it seem imminent that Preller had made the trade of the century for Max Scherzer. The Preller statue was about to start construction. Ken Rosenthal ⁦‪@Ken_Rosenthal‬⁩ BREAKING: Padres close to acquiring Max Scherzer, sources tell   ⁦‪@TheAthletic‬⁩ .   7/29/21, 1:10 PM     You see it, I see it. "Close to acquiring Max Scherzer". So at this point I'm freaking out, I can't believe it I can't believe it we're the greatest front office in the history of sports. Oh my god can you imagine the electricity Scherzer's first start is going to bring?! I'm already texting my brother that we're going to the game where he makes his first start. Dodgers and Giant...

ICYMI: Javy Báez Dances on Amir Garrett's Grave

Image
(Image is owned by  Báez's walk-off single in the 9th | 07/26/2021 | Chicago Cubs (mlb.com) , we do not own the rights) (Entire walk off single and lead up. MLB owns the rights to this video, we do not) Absolutely incredible theatre last night at Wrigley Field. In order to truly understand the background and intensity of this matchup, you have to click the video above and watch. But to put it simply, Amir Garrett and Javy Baez do NOT like each other at all. I don't think I've ever seen two guys talk shit to each other before the at-bat even began and with the game on the line it made watching all the more entertaining. Like I've stated on the podcast, I hate Amir Garrett with a passion. He is a big dude so I'm not going to say he's a fake tough guy but he's just the definition of doing too much. He wears a 6.75 ERA and acts like he's the greatest pitcher in baseball when he finally strikes you out. That's my issue. If you're actually good, then...

Aaron Rodgers Crushes My Hopes and Dreams in the Offseason Too

Image
Adam Schefter ⁦‪@AdamSchefter‬⁩ With Aaron Rodgers expected to return to Green Bay while giving the Packers more cap room, the team now can make another run at trying to sign WR Davante Adams to an extension, per sources.   7/26/21, 1:33 PM         Adam Schefter ⁦‪@AdamSchefter‬⁩ If Packers’ officials sign off on their willingness to trade Aaron Rodgers, and the agreement is finalized soon, here’s the biggest concession the reigning MVP will receive: the freedom to decide where he wants to play in 2022.   7/26/21, 1:57 PM     The Bears are going 0-3 versus the Packers this year and this is the first L. It’s my fault really, I allowed myself to think the snake Packers couldn’t slither their way out of this one. They had gone too far with Rodgers and we’re going to be forced to trade him away; a stain so thick the Packers organization would have never lived it down. How beautiful that painting looked. But no, just like when the Bears a...

Padres Trade For Adam Frazier and Mad Scientist AJ Preller is Back At It Again

Image
After the Padres got embarrassed 9-3 today to split the series with the Marlins, I’ll be honest I was upset. Turned off the game, started to do other things. But about 3 hours later I get the notification on my phone that the greatest chess player in the history of GM’s AJ Preller is back on his bullshit baby. Making moves and giving up nothing in return. In short, the Padres traded for All-Star 2B/OF Adam Frazier from the Pirates for 3 Prospects, nobody from the Padres major league roster was included in the deal or any of our top prospects (minus Tucu) which is unreal.     RobBiertempfel ⁦‪@RobBiertempfel‬⁩ So, to sum it up: Pirates are getting three players -- Michael Milliano, Jack Suwinski and Tucupita Marcano -- from Padres in exchange for Adam Frazier and cash.   7/25/21, 4:01 PM     **Format change for reasons unknown** We can figure out the logistics of moving guys around later, but the Padres got an All-Star who is leading the league in hits and...

Umpire Doug Eddings Hates All Things San Diego and Should Be Put In Timeout

Image
Kevin Acee ⁦‪@sdutKevinAcee‬⁩ It appears to have been as bad as the Padres thought. Of the 17 calls home plate umpire Doug Eddings missed in tonight's game, 15 went against the Padres. (This is based on strike zone tracker in MLB.com play-by-play.)   7/24/21, 6:47 PM     Leave it to a guy named Doug to completely blow chow on a Saturday, so on brand. The Padres played the Marlins today, lost 3-2 and that was fine. Hey, you can’t win em all, win 3 out of 4 tomorrow hum now fellas. Sure, sure. But then I see that home plate umpire Doug Eddings ass is trending on twitter. The dude had himself quite the day behind the dish. Missed 17 calls and 15 went against the Padres………. 15?? Is this some Tim Donaghy shit? (NBA ref who fixed games and was a total scumbag). I mean how can you be so horrifically consistent is my question. And then… AND THEN…. The absolute audacity for this cat to be pissed off that the Padres dugout is chirping him for being horrible and take ...

Guardians of What? Cleveland Botches Name Change

Image
This is exactly why you don’t let a room of crusty adults decide on what’s cool. The Cleveland Indians have officially changed their name to the Guardians after seemingly one zoom meeting and the consensus being well shit that’s fine I guess. What an awful name. You already have the Cleveland Browns who wear orange helmets, but at least there is history with that franchise so you give them a pass. But in 2021, the powers that be in Cleveland’s baseball organization decide the Guardians is the appropriate new direction to take. Guardians sounds like in 4th grade when you didn’t get picked to the team you wanted too at some kids birthday party. You go over to your mom and complain, “Mom I wanted to be on the Terminators” and she basically says, “Well just suck it up because it’s Tommy’s birthday party and his mom made cake. But don’t worry, it's only for today”. The Cleveland franchise doesn’t have the courtesy of it only being for a day however. Imagine spending months and months of...

Joe-No! The 1st No-Hitter in Padres History

Image
(4/10/21) Holy hell, Joe Musgrove threw a no-hitter versus the lowly Texas Rangers yesterday. I still can't believe it. How many times as Padre fans has our heart been stomped on, crushed, and left to bleed out in this exact situation? How many times?? God damn it feels incredible to have this weight lifted off our shoulders. We've seen it all Pads fans. Whether it be having a bunch of nobody's take the field for a decade or being no hit consistently by other teams. Nobody has respected us since Tony Gwynn stopped playing. In comes the El Cajon G.O.A.T. Joe Musgrove, you dog you, the hometown hero via another incredible trade by the greatest mad scientist this games ever seen in A.J. Prellar. If you scripted this No-No as a movie it would be a dog shit movie because this shit doesn't happen in real life. It's the equivalent to  Danny O' Shea taking down his older bro Kevin in "Little Giants". Yeah that's all fine and good in the movie, but in real ...
