| | | | | | | It appears to have been as bad as the Padres thought. Of the 17 calls home plate umpire Doug Eddings missed in tonight's game, 15 went against the Padres. (This is based on strike zone tracker in MLB.com play-by-play.) | | | | 7/24/21, 6:47 PM |

Leave it to a guy named Doug to completely blow chow on a Saturday, so on brand. The Padres played the Marlins today, lost 3-2 and that was fine. Hey, you can’t win em all, win 3 out of 4 tomorrow hum now fellas. Sure, sure. But then I see that home plate umpire Doug Eddings ass is trending on twitter. The dude had himself quite the day behind the dish. Missed 17 calls and 15 went against the Padres………. 15?? Is this some Tim Donaghy shit? (NBA ref who fixed games and was a total scumbag). I mean how can you be so horrifically consistent is my question. And then… AND THEN…. The absolute audacity for this cat to be pissed off that the Padres dugout is chirping him for being horrible and take off his mask and chirp back like he’s having an all-timer back there. Ejects Skip Schumaker (1st ejection ever) and Tommy Pham for pointing out the obvious. But credit to the greatest sports commentating duo in civilization’s history, Don Orsillo and Mud Grant, for calling his ass out and assigning him the player of the game for such an egregious abuse of power. Ha-Seong Kim was called out on strikes at one point where no pitch was even near the zone, statistically. Yeah I’m a Padres fan but the K zone doesn’t lie. Kim doesn’t speak a lick of english but his face after that strike 3 call very clearly said hey what the fuck man, you’re hose-bagging me. Any umpire or referee knows that at the end of the game you don’t want fans to know your name. But not ol Douglas. No no no no. Doug said you know what Tatis is getting a lot of shine, what about me man. I’m back here grinding it out too. So let the record show that July 24, 2021 was the turning point for robots to take over our human jobs as umpires. And all the credit goes to Doug Eddings, today’s player of the game.
