Ken Rosenthal is Cancelled

Wow. What a roller coaster yesterday was as trade rumors were circulating all day around prized jewel Max Scherzer. What made it especially traumatic as a Padres fan was the fact that a guy by the name of Ken Rosenthal got all of our hopes up. He made it seem imminent that Preller had made the trade of the century for Max Scherzer. The Preller statue was about to start construction.

You see it, I see it. "Close to acquiring Max Scherzer". So at this point I'm freaking out, I can't believe it I can't believe it we're the greatest front office in the history of sports. Oh my god can you imagine the electricity Scherzer's first start is going to bring?! I'm already texting my brother that we're going to the game where he makes his first start. Dodgers and Giants were playing as this news came out as well and hearing the fear in both teams announcers was intoxicating. Virtually they were speechless. Finally, it was OUR time......... But the clock continued to wind and where is the tweet of authenticity? No official trade yet? Concern, worry, anxiety, fear, bad vibes, you name it, all came flooding to the fore front of my thoughts. And then...... ol Ken comes out with another update......

No. No. Nooooooooooo. Come on man, are you kidding me? The Dodgers are going to steal him away from us? Is there any worse scenario as a Padres fan than this timeline of events. The answer is no. Twitter has been such a disaster during the trade deadline by the way, it's impossible to know what the hell's actually going on and I still don't know why we ended up being CLOSE and not getting Mad Max. As I'm sure a lot of you were after living this anticlimactic nightmare, I was disappointed not going to lie. But I will say, we have no choice but to regroup and the goal remains the same.
**SPIN ZONE CITY** - The Dodgers had Bauer when this year started and he was in the prime of his career. Scherzer is 36 years old and a free agent next year. Not to mention a Cathedral Catholic High School alum, Daniel Camarena, hit a grand slam off him. So whatever man, we ride on and the hatred for the Dodgers just grows.
But for Ken Rosenthal to play with my emotions like that is just such an obtuse move. How dare you Kenneth. And Ken even more so than the Dodgers, continues to be the villain during this trade deadline.
