Chandler Parsons Tells WILD Kobe Bryant Story on All The Smoke Podcast

Image
(Image is owned by Zimbio, we do not own the rights) In order to understand what I'm going to be talking about watch the video below of Chandler Parsons telling his Kobe tale on All The Smoke Podcast with Matt Barnes & Stephen Jackson. First, well done to Chandler Parsons. Sets the stage like a champion and there's nothing worse than a dude who doesn't know how to tell an interesting story. But reflecting on the story haha WOW didn't expect that to be the ending at all. With Kobe being the competitive beast he was and seeing that Chandler Parsons was guarding him all night I would've assumed he would've taken that matchup as complete disrespect and taken it personally (Michael Jordan: The Last Dance voice). When Parsons talks about how Kobe asks him if he's going out after the game, I was ready for Parsons to answer "yeah" and for Kobe to respond something to the effect of "yeah that's why you play like shit" . That would'v...

TBT: Greatest Sports Commercials from the 2000's

Image
(Image is owned by KicksOnFire.com, we do not own the rights) It's Thursday in late February in the year 2022 so you know what that means.... Let's take a step back and remember some ALL-TIME phenomenal commercials from back in the day. And you know when I label something ALL-TIME then it's immediately on a pedestal. Only the best of the best on this post. This Nike Campaign was smooth as hell. Gather up the best NBA players and put em on a runway with Juelz Santana's The Second Coming in the background. Just a textbook marketing move by Nike. That's why they're the goats in the industry! The grainy visuals of the video give you that perfect 2009 vibe too. That YouTube just got discovered vibe haha. Lights Out. Dude was an absolute menace on the field and had the most electric sack dance in the NFL potentially ever, I'd have to conduct some research. But the way they set up these visuals was perfect. Changing the scenery, opponent, situation, and Lights ...

Time to Say Goodbye: Aaron Rodgers & The Green Bay Packers

Image
(Image owned by USA Today) Again, we are in this situation of wondering what the future is for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. This is very reminiscent of the beginning of the 2021 football season, where Aaron was toying with his future in the NFL. Through all of that crap, Aaron Rodgers flew back to Green Bay from Hawaii and chose to play another season. We saw Aaron start off slow, and work his way back to becoming a back-to-back NFL MVP. Which is an exceptional feat, but his personal accolades has not brought his team to winning a Super Bowl. Yes, Aaron has done exceptional things but he has not brought more championships to his team. That is my biggest issue with Aaron and the Packers continue to see him as the one that is going to bring their organization to another Super Bowl. No doubt, that Aaron has that ability but how many opportunities is he going to get from the same team?  (Image owned by Lehigh Valley Live) 2011 was the last time Aaron won a Super Bowl...

Don't Even Think About Not Shaking Tom Izzo's Hand

Image
(Image is owned by theScore, we do not own the rights) With the shit hitting the fan in the Juwan Howard/Wisconsin fiasco last weekend, people are starting to question if the handshake line at the end of the game is truly necessary. And when you come up with something as egregious as eliminating sportsmanship from a game, prepare for a guy like legendary Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo to tell you how it is. His response is so beautiful. A guttural "oh my god how insane can this world possibly be" in response to the question and I couldn't agree more. Why is it in 2022 whenever there is a problem that comes about the response is to eliminate whatever it is in its entirety? That's why we need old, gruff SOB's like Tom Izzo to keep us centered and give us the obvious, "hey guys that idea is insane what are we doing here". And his point is 100% true and accurate. If you lose a game, you should be able to go over to the other side and shake your c...
