TBT: Greatest Sports Commercials from the 2000's

It's Thursday in late February in the year 2022 so you know what that means.... Let's take a step back and remember some ALL-TIME phenomenal commercials from back in the day. And you know when I label something ALL-TIME then it's immediately on a pedestal. Only the best of the best on this post.

This Nike Campaign was smooth as hell. Gather up the best NBA players and put em on a runway with Juelz Santana's The Second Coming in the background. Just a textbook marketing move by Nike. That's why they're the goats in the industry! The grainy visuals of the video give you that perfect 2009 vibe too. That YouTube just got discovered vibe haha.

Lights Out. Dude was an absolute menace on the field and had the most electric sack dance in the NFL potentially ever, I'd have to conduct some research. But the way they set up these visuals was perfect. Changing the scenery, opponent, situation, and Lights Out Merriman smacks you in the mouth every time. This is peak Chargers. Oh yeah Steven Jackson's kinda cool too....

When Under Armour was new it was sick. All of their campaigns in the 2000's were like this. Rough, in your face, and intimidating your face off. No idea who the main guy was in these commercials, but the guy was an absolute tank holy hell. If he tells you to protect the house guess what, you're going to protect the damn house. Epic.

Moving into the humor department, this is SportsCenter clips ALWAYS hit. There are some funny ass people stowed away in the writing department over there. Self-explanatory really. LT was known for his dark visor, so they put him in the mailroom sorting mail for the company. So good and so simple.

Did you forget this number? Lebron in his early NBA days playing himself in various forms and the banter between them is money. You got the old geezer barking orders from the pool chair, talking smack. Modern day LeBron training in the pool. A 6-year-old version just having a glorious pool day. And then the clean-cut, smooth-talking agent type LeBron in a full white suit on the diving board. The moment the fully suited Bron jumps off the diving board, grabs his legs and stares at the camera simultaneously is hysterical. Like a scene out of Starsky and Hutch.

ENJOY
