Bucs/Cowboys Kickoff the 2021 Year with Fireworks

I can't tell you how happy I am that football is back. I love this sport more than any sport that we cover here at Sports Banter and last night's game was exactly why. The super bowl defending, Tom Brady led Buccaneers were the heavy favorites coming into the night versus a Cowboys team with a lot of question marks. Most notably Dak Prescott and how he was going to perform in his first game coming back from a gruesome ankle injury. Well let's get one thing straight..... Dak can flat out BALL. He looked like a top 5 quarterback in the league last night and from watching Hard Knocks I'm becoming a Prescott guy. Why? He's an awesome leader. He takes it on his shoulders to be the guy in the locker room that says something with purpose, that calls people out when they aren't doing their job, and not in an asshole way but in a you can be so much better way. I'm not a Cowboys fan in the slightest, I think they're one of the more annoying franchises in the league because they always have so much hype and never produce. But Dak I believe is a special quarterback that is going to help build that franchise for years going forward.

But on the other sideline, unfortunately for Dak, stood the greatest quarterback the game has ever seen in Tom Brady. Who was quoted before the year saying he's chasing down Michael Jordan's greatness. That is so awesome. Imagine having so much competitive juice inside you that 7 Super Bowl wins isn't enough to pack it in and retire. Shit man, I'm trying to get my Bears to win ONE! Just one for christ sake. Brady's out here with the mentality that 7 isn't enough, I love every bit of it. He had a hell of a game and was the reason the Bucs came out on top in the last seconds. Every year it seems like people are rooting for Brady to be too old and deteriorate. I really don't think that day is ever going to come because he looked awesome yesterday. And in absolute classic fashion..... the Cowboys go up 1 on a field goal with a 1:30 left on the clock and everyone in the world knew how this game was going to end. Unless you were a delusional cowboy fan.

Look at this dude's face after the Cowboys kick the go-ahead field goal. Of course Brady comes back and wins. Are you serious? There's nothing new here whatsoever haha. And if you thought it would be then shame on you. The man is the GOAT for a reason. Greg Zeurlein, the Cowboys kicker, single-handedly cost the Cowboys a W. You simply can't miss a 31 yard field goal and an extra point in that game. Can't happen. I'll let the 60 yard field goal slide because McCarthy is bananas for even considering that attempt after he missed the first 2.

Pretty classic Cowboys. Bucs win after 4 turnovers and 100+ yards of penalties. I did love how in the postgame Dak told Brady "we'll see you again" when they shook hands. I'm a Dak guy I guess! Looking to Sunday we get the onslaught of games for the first time this year. I CANNOT WAIT. I live for this shit man.
