Pat Bev's Camera Shows The Truth: Jayson Tatum Blatantly Fouls LeBron James

I AM SICK. This is the most disturbed I've been watching one of my teams play since Cody Parkey's double-doink. That's a DEEP cut. The Lakers go into Boston and play an absolute beauty of a game, only to be cheated out of their rightful win in the final moments. This isn't an overreaction piece, this isn't a debate, this is just a blatant lack of accountability on 3 NBA referees who took this win from the Lakers and there's obvious video evidence to back it up. Truly disgusting. A couple notes to harp on from the last 10 seconds of play:

1. Only in Boston, would a historically HORRIBLE 3 point attempt from Al Horford that hits the top of the backboard end up in the hands of Jaylen Brown. He gets the rebound, puts it back in for the layup and that was that. No whistle, the play moves on, Lakers still up 1. But ohhhhhh wait the referee by the Celtics bench decides 2 full seconds after the play that he's calling a foul. Let's make this clear. It was a foul by Pat Beverley but they didn't call anything! It was obvious they missed it, but okay fine upon replay I can live with that. Place blame on Pat Bev for fouling when he didn't have too and that's fine. Still an absolutely ridiculous move by the official to blow his whistle as the Lakers are about to inbound the ball but yeah that's how shit goes when you play in Boston.

2. (Deep inhale) What the actual f*** was this. Tie game. Time is winding down and LeBron makes an excellent drive to the rim and instead of laying the ball up, Tatum slaps his arm with a force of a 1,000 suns. The ref is standing literally right by the play and doesn't call anything?? I threw my hat in disgust. Back-to-back plays that we get royally screwed on. The replay is insane, it's so clear and blatant that Tatum hits Lebron's arm so I truly don't understand how you don't call that or even discuss it with the other officials. The fact that in 2023 the NBA still doesn't have a system in play that can utilize replay to make the correct call is laughable. Instead they opt to tell the Lakers 5 minutes after the game ends, oh hey we got that wrong sorry about that. Get the hell out of here with that. What the hell is that?

So yeah, I'm pissed off about it. This hasn't been a great year for the Lakers anyways so I wasn't expecting anything going into the game. Then to play so well and do everything right, only to have a referee completely blow it is unreal. The agony of sports when shit doesn't go your way is the worst. I sat on my couch at 1130 pm EST in a fogged state of rage. "How do I move on from this now?", I wondered. I'm just supposed to go to bed after being emotionally abused by 3 bozos wearing stripes? Don't think so.

Today's a new day, yeah whatever. I am not a blame it on the ref guy either, they're doing their best and its a hard job. But this is different. This is like if you're a Saints fan and the refs didn't call the most obvious pass interference in the history of football type shit. You can't move on, you just flush that memory and then every time you see it when it pops up on social media you get pissed all over again. I can relish in this fact however:

The Celtics last won a championship in 2008. 14 years ago. Then you have the bozo Celtic fans that say the 2020 championship we won doesn't count. #1 argue with the NBA record books, not me. And #2 the Celtics were in the same playoff bracket and lost, so it's comedy to discount us when you couldn't even make it. And on top of that, even if you take out that championship we still won more recently than your ass. So keep on the path of "almost winning" and adding to that 14 year losing streak, we'll be back where we need to be at some point sooner than that.

Lakeshow forever. R.I.P. Bake
