Transitioning Into Bills Mafia

At the beginning of the 2022 football season, I finally took the step into being a 100% Buffalo Bills football fan. I have called myself a bastardized Bills fan for a couple seasons priors and could no commit to following them 100%. It was as if I was dating, I had given my heart to the San Diego Chargers growing up and they dumped me and their fans like a hot potato. I was cautious to commit due to the harm that the Chargers caused when they left San Diego. They left San Diego and transitioned so quickly into the Los Angeles Chargers, as if San Diego didn't mean anything to them. What stung the most was that the Chargers (Spanos Assholes) organization didn't even recognize or care about how they affected the Charger Faithful or San Diego. That hit me hard as a football fan, it was as if my life long support and love did not mean a thing to them. We were just the ex-boyfriend that they wanted to forget about and want nothing to do with. Look, I'll keep it short they left I hate them (like most San Diego Charger Fans).
During Season 2 of the Sports Banter podcast, Mr. Peanut had me sign a contract to follow the Bills because I had been non-committal. I signed the dotted line, knowing that this was going to be my team and I am happy to finally have a team to constantly follow. I have not had a team that I looked forward to watching for some time now and having the opportunity to follow the Bills has been great. It also helps that they have progressively gotten better as I have been watching them, and this year they are on an amazing roll. Josh Allen, Stephon Diggs, Micah Hyde (who got hurt this season), Von Miller, and the rest of the team are exceptional to watch. It reminds me of the days of watching the Chargers and hanging on every play. When they make a mistake, I get upset; when they score a touchdown or make a great play I am excited about the outcome. These are the things that I have missed as a football fan and I know diehard fans know what I am talking about.
I absolutely love football, but not having a team to follow is a very weird feeling. Don't get me wrong, I can watch all the games and be happy that I was able to watch football. But not having a dog in the fight makes the season feel weird, it's like great I'm glad that team won or "hey that team really should have won". Going through a couple seasons of watching football that way, it just isn't fun. I had missed that feeling with the Chargers, and look those games where Rivers would throw a game ending interception were killers but that is being a faithful fan. Watching games until the final play, and that is what I am doing with the Bills.
Bills fans are crazy and the biggest thing that I love about them is that they are whole heartedly faithful to their team and players. They all live and die on each play, and it shows and you can feel that watching games. That is was drove me to following their team and also that they had one of the most electric young quarterbacks in the game right now with Josh Allen. Their team right now is playing on all cylinders and I am happy to finally have a team to follow again.
