The Lakers Are Unbearable to Watch

Damn. I thought we had turned the corner when we signed LeBron James and traded the future away for Anthony Davis and won the 2020 NBA Championship. That team was awesome and played basketball how it's supposed to be played. Since then, injuries, roster turnover, and the obvious lack in chemistry on the court have led the Lakers to what they are today....pathetic. Last night in a "must win game" versus the New Orleans Pelicans they again ended up taking the L at Crypto.com arena, 114-111. They just flat out can't beat anyone. My original blog on Russell Westbrook was so completely incorrect it's hard to digest. He does nothing to make this team better and add to LeBron's greatness and instead is a turnover ridden point guard who can't shoot anymore.

Anthony Davis has been a disaster health wise the past 2 seasons. However you want to carve it, he's not out there playing and what's incredible is that the team that Rob Pelinka built is impervious to winning when either LeBron or AD are out. What type of recipe for success is that? Clearly a bad one as the past 2 years of decline in performance has shown.

Head coach Frank Vogel. I'm not sure how much say the head coach has on a LeBron led team but this team's strategy STINKS. Aside from the absolute bottom tier of the NBA, the Lakers have the worst offensive and defensive schemes I've ever seen. Stand around and let LeBron make a play has gone on far, far too long. At what point do you admit to each other that this does not and will not work. So STOP! Do something else! Jimoney Christmas it's infuriating. And the fact that they have been doing this for 2 years, you have to fire Vogel and start from the ground up (again). It's a shame we don't have Jason Kidd still on the staff because he would be the perfect guy to fill in. That's just the price you pay for a championship in 2020 though. You can't fire the head coach after he wins it all, doesn't make any sense.

Being a Lakers fan, this is where the rest of the world relishes in our demise. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the years that I sat and watched the worst teams the Lakers organization have ever put together and we're back here being an unwatchable puke fest. The years where I pretended Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre, young Jordan Clarkson, young Julius Randle, young DeAngelo Russell, Kendall Marshall, Tarik Black, Wayne Ellington, Luol Deng, Timofey Mosgov, etc, all could be solid roster pieces moving forward. Just terrible times.

So now we have GM Rob Pelinka & (LeBron) compiling a new team every year and wondering why we're at where we're at. The answers (2) are simple:

1. Zero continuity
2. Anthony Davis and LeBron get hurt and there's no back up plan

We cannot win that way and I'm tired of the team being built this way. And as great as LeBron is, if he has a hand in these decisions he needs to take ownership as well. Stop being fools and build this team for the future and not with 1 year contracts for veterans past their prime.

End this dreadful season, I cannot watch this disaster any longer.
