Khalil Mack Got Traded to the Chargers and I'm in a Glass Case of Emotion

Wow this sucks. In the first move of Ryan Poles regime, the Bears are trading Khalil Mack to the los angeles chargers for a 2022 2nd round pick and a 2023 6th round pick. Gut wrenching. I remember the day I woke up and saw that the Bears had traded for Mack with the Raiders and it was the absolute best. In the peak of his career and just an absolute menace coming off the edge, he was exactly what the Bears needed to be a feared defense and Super Bowl contender again. And all of that was put on display in his first game versus the hated Packers when he went OFF.

I could not believe that the Raiders were willing to get rid of this guy. He was unbelievable. One of the strongest players I've ever watched play as well, literally embarrassing and tossing around other teams starting Tackles like your stupid little brother in the backyard. The way he played embraced what the Monsters of the Midway nickname represents. Hard nosed, in your face, I'm going to be here all day long and you're going to have to deal with me type shit. I'm not going to say it's a bad trade like a lot of Bears fans are doing. We have stunk for years now and Ryan Poles is going to get assets as he rebuilds this roster from the ground up. That part I understand. The real disappointing part is that the Bears leadership failed Khalil Mack. Not the other way around. We had this future hall of famer for 5 seasons and really only had 1 Super Bowl contending team and that was in his first year. Now he's 31 years old and as much as I'm sure he would've like to stick around in Chicago, we don't have the flexibility to be back on the Super Bowl contending platform right away.
Business wise it makes sense. As a fan it's the worst. It's just another phenomenal talent that the Bears had the luxury of having on their team that didn't amount to a championship. He was the heart and soul of the Bears team. Even at our worst you knew if Khalil Mack was suiting up we had a chance to be in the game. The ultimate playmaker and difference maker. So really I just want to say thank you to Khalil Mack for the work he put in for this team and city and I wish the organization could've built a better team around him.
This is the start of what will undoubtedly be a lot of new faces and turnover on the Bears team. It was a move that makes a statement about the state of affairs in Halas Hall. We're rebuilding this damn thing and I trust Ryan Poles to do what is necessary to get us to where we need to be. Even if that means trading away my favorite player.
