Hard Knocks Detroit Lions

Hard Knocks season, I don't even know... All I know is that this season is going to be featuring the Detroit Lions. Let me start here, Hard Knocks is one of my all time favorite shows relating the my favorite sport football. It was a place as a young football fan where I was able to understand and get a glimpse into the everyday life of some of the greats. It was a place where I saw Rex Ryan plan a fight at practice, to most recent seasons Frank Caliendo imitating Jon Gruden during a pre-game speech. We not only were able to see the funnier sides of teams, through every season we were able to learn about new players and old players. We as fans were able to get an understanding of what is actually going on behind closed doors for our favorite football teams.
Although in the more recent seasons this narrative has changed with Hard Knocks, we are pulling away from those beloved items. We are pushing into this timeframe of watching Ezekiel Elliot wrapping a present for Dad Prescott or how Jon Gruden likes to talk crap on the size of Derek Carr's backup's neck. They have even pulled away from the Rookie Show, which was an all time great of Hard Knocks. I think what the NFL is trying to push for is this narrative of, here is the superstars and this is their lives during pre-season NFL. We as fans do not want to see that, we want to see all the real crap that teams go through. We want to see the new players and the struggles they encounter, we want to see the vets getting pressure from those rookies, and everything else. We especially want to see the players acting like themselves and that I feel like this being lost within Hard Knocks.

This upcoming season of Hard Knocks we as fans are going to be thrown into the dark pit of Detroit. As I have said on Sports Banter, Detroit is where players and coaches go to die. I am really hoping that Detroit is not the place where Hard Knocks goes to die. Look we are going to have to deal with Jared Goff, which lets put it this way he is a wet blanket. Jared Goff is literally going to add nothing to this season of Hard Knocks and I also don't think that he is going to add to Detroit's success on the field. I think that a lot of people are going to enjoy seeing the antics of Dan Campbell. Dan is a very emotional coach, and I think he is also a players coach as well. I think that we are going to be seeing a lot of "I love you guys" and "we are working to build something here" out of Dan this season.
But I digress, the only reason that I am remotely intrigued about this season is where the Lions are in the Draft charts. They have the second overall pick, which will give us as fans the opportunity to see how their team is moving this season. I personally think that they will take a QB, which will create some drama at that position. I think that their opportunities to build their team this draft class is going to assist with my involvement with Hard Knocks this season.
Look, I love Hard Knocks and I want to watch it every season but I need them to be better.
