The official press release is here. As of today at 3:14 p.m. (PST) it is confirmed that the Downing's (my dad, brother RD, and myself) will be attending the Bears/Browns matchup in Cleveland, OH, to uphold the bears pact. I'll make this quick because I got shit to say but the bears pact is an agreement that we made in 2018 after a night out. Every year, we will go to an away stadium to see our Chicago Bears play. So far here are the results:

12/02/18- Bears @ NY Giants (27-30 OT) Loss
09/15/19- Bears @ Denver (16-14) Win
12/27/20- Bears @ Jacksonville (41-17) Win
09/26/21- Bears @ Cleveland ?

Also important to note, we will be attending the game with a couple die hard Cleveland fans. My boy Sam Hagerty, his dad, and his lady. Hey look the stage is set and I'm no dummy, the Bears are going to be an underdog in this game. Depending on what their offense looks like in the first 2 weeks with Andy Dalton under center they could be as much as 10 point Dogs. I wouldn't be surprised. But listen, we're not taking the trip to Cleveland to just take an L and exchange pleasantries with the natives. No freaking way. We're going to put on our hard hats and figure out a way to spoil all the good people of Cleveland's Sunday on that fateful week. I know the Polar Bear has my back in terms of thinking Baker Mayfield could single handedly win us the game and that's what we'll be working for.

As most Bears teams go, this is the route to victory. Keep the score low, score on special teams, and get after the quarterback. That's how we do it baby. Make it as ugly as possible, set a record for punts in a game, and set the record of sacks in a game at the same time. To be honest, since we started this tradition we've seen some phenomenal Bears games. Our only loss comes at the hands of an OT Giants game where the Bears backup quarterback was playing, so whatever I'll tip my cap on that one. As this game gets closer, I'll be updating what the preparation looks like but you could probably guess. A relentless approach of enthusiasm unknown to mankind, camaraderie, and chirp city.

In a perfect world, Justin Fields will be playing that Sunday for the Bears. Get the Cleveland fan base all confused before kick off. Ohio St alum? First start? Do we root for Fields, do we not? Oh yeah, that would be just beautiful.

No further comment at this time. Bear down.
