DAAAAAA BULLS Are Back

NBA free agency has begun and Da Bulls are out here making headlines. In the past two days they have completely transformed their roster and and are bringing an excitement around this team that hasn't been felt since the Rose/Noah Era in the early 2010's. (How do you even reference that era of time). Anyways, let's dive in.

You absolutely love to see it. In general, if you're a fan of the Bulls then your ecstatic. Do these moves make the Bulls a title contender? Ehhh not really, but at least the people in power are doing something for you. The amazing part about the NBA is that a team can be transformed through free agency because their are only 5 starting spots. So if you win free agency there's a good chance your team can be a lot better than the year previous. Right now for the Bulls a potential starting 5 could be:

PG- Lonzo Ball
SG- Zach LaVine
SF- DeMar DeRozan
PF- Nikola Vucevic
C- TBD

Now again, don't get me wrong.... The Bulls aren't Nets or Bucks level but the 6-10 seeds in the East are generally pretty trash, so they can certainly stick their snouts in one of those. I like the scoring ability of DeRozan, LaVine, and Vucevic together with Lonzo facilitating. And this is what makes the NBA's free agency period so incredible. The Bulls have been a non-factor for years and with a few moves are already back in playoff discussion. You've also got Woj in full sleep deprivation mode, tweeting every 30 seconds what the latest move is (would love to see what kind of shape that dudes in after this week). Players are going all over the map with very little inside information being exposed until it becomes official. I just can't get enough.

Oh not to mention, the Bulls also signed the G.O.A.T.

Do you think MJ is waking up in cold sweats after hearing this move? Understanding that his legacy as a Bull and as the greatest to ever do it is under serious duress now that the Alex Caruso is official? Man, talk about worst case scenario for the (former) G.O. A. T.

If last season taught us anything, it’s that shiny objects i.e. Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, Rome Odunze, Keenan Allen, & D’Andre Swift, are not enough to build sustainable success around. The big men in the trenches may not get the shine or glory, but they are what makes the wheel turn.
